LAHORE - Former Pakistan Under-19 coach and Test batsman Ejaz Ahmed said that the West Indies tour is a good opportunity to youngsters to prove their mettle in the tour if they provided with chance to play against the hosts there.
He said that Caribbean pitches have no bounce and are slow turner that will beneficial for the Pakistan youngsters. Ejaz expressed these views while talking in a Waqt TV programme Game Beat.
He said that Babar Azam, Raza Hassan, Hammad Azam and Usman Salahuddin are very talented players and they toured under my coaching to Australia and England and represent Pakistan for a long period.
He said Hammad Azam and Usman Salahuddin are selected in the current and if they included in the playing XI then they can prove their worth during the tour. “Hammad Azam toured West Indies in my coaching and had played U-19 World Cup there.
He is familiar of Caribbean pitches and could establish himself as a good all-rounder,’’ he claimed.
He said that Asad Shafiq is also a very talented and good batsman having nice technique also can establish himself and make a permanent spot in the team. The player use his mind and plans his innings must establish himself as a batsman,” he maintained.
While replying to query about coaching job, he said that it is duty of coach to guide the player in a decent manner and pin point his weaknesses to remove them.
