“We’re proud of Team Pakistan’s achievement in the series against Australia, which has been acclaimed locally and internationally. It was a heroic performance, led by the experienced duo of Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq, admirably supported by the youngsters, and good training by the support staff led, including Waqar Younis, Grant Flower and Mushtaq Ahmed, Shahid Aslam, Brad Robbinson and Grant Luden.

“But we need to put this success behind us for the moment and switch our focus on the series against New Zealand. It will be a fresh start and will need to keep the momentum going. Obviously, this is another opportunity for the youngsters to test and hone their skills in international cricket against a highly talented side like New Zealand.

“There is no change to the side from the Abu Dhabi Test against Australia. This is to ensure there is consistency, which will bring more stability and strengthen team bonding and combination.”
