Lahore February 13, 2013: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) management team is currently working on creating an available time slot in the near future to organize the League and the PCB will make an announcement on new dates as soon as possible.
Chairman PCB, Mr. M. Zaka Ashraf said:
“I am pleased with the efforts being put in by the entire PSL team and it is satisfying to note the progress that was made and the response that we have got on the PSL from various stakeholders.”
Commenting on the progress PSL Managing Director, Mr. Salman Sarwar Butt said:
“A committee is working full time to find available and appropriate dates and we are hopeful that the process for the sale of various rights will restart soon. We are constantly in touch with all parties who have shown interest in our League and we hope to announce new dates soon.
It has been a wonderful experience working on the PSL project and I am indebted to the PCB management for their confidence in our abilities to develop and manage a project of this magnitude.
Before joining, I had intimated the PCB of my plans and commitments beyond April 2013 which would prevent me from working on future editions of PSL. As the League is now most likely to be held after April, I will not be available to work further on this first edition. We have therefore mutually agreed that it would make sense to appoint a successor sooner rather than later. This has been a difficult decision to make, but my personal and professional commitments would preclude me from carrying on. I would naturally be happy to provide all possible assistance to PCB and PSL even if I am not officially associated with the League, and would remain an ardent ambassador of PSL.”
Chairman PCB, Mr. M. Zaka Ashraf, while wishing Mr. Salman Sarwar Butt well for his future, said:
“Salman has provided invaluable services to PSL and his dedication and commitment to the League will always be cherished. On behalf of PCB I wish him the best of luck in his future career.”
In the interim, PCB has appointed Mr. Javed Miandad, Director General PCB, as acting MD of PSL.
Mr Miandad said: “I am pleased to lead the team until we appoint a new MD on a permanent basis to take the PSL forward. The PSL team recently shifted into new offices and is working with great enthusiasm on all aspects of the League”
