KARACHI, April 26: Sri Lanka women failed to make the most of home conditions when they fell to Pakistan women’s cricket team again in their second ODI in the Women’s Quadrangular Series played at the P. Sara Oval in Colombo on Tuesday.
Pakistan won the match by two wickets.
According to the information received here, winning the toss Pakistan put the hosts into bat first and none of their bowlers remained empty-handed as Sri Lanka were bowled out for 68 in just 24.2 overs in the 50-over match.
L.E. Kaushalya remained their highest scorer with 23 runs while the only other batswoman to reach double figures was B.Y.A Mendis (13).
Medium pacer Qanita Jalil and leg-spinner Sana Mir got two wickets each while the other leg-break bowler, Bismah Maroof, off-spinner Nida Dar, left-arm spinner Sadia Yousuf and debutant left-arm medium pacer Masooma Junaid picked up one each.
Two of Sri Lanka’s batswomen got run out and two were stumped by wicket-keeper Batool Fatima.
In reply, Pakistan too struggled to reach their target that saw them losing as many as eight wickets.
Bismah Maroof scored 22 with three fours, Nida Dar 16 with two fours and Marina Iqbal 13 as the other ladies were dismissed after contributing one or two runs.
Sri Lanka’s S.P. de Alwis and L.E. Kaushalya took two wickets each.
