Former wicket-keeper's fate to be decided by PCB's inquiry committees on his return on April 24.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) intends to investigate runaway former wicket-keeper Zulqarnain Haider on his return from England.
The PCB confirmed that Haider had breached his central contract and was in direct violation of the code of conduct. The board is reluctant to bring him back in the fold and advised three of its committees to investigate him.
Haider had deserted the team in Dubai during the Pakistan-South Africa one-day series, fleeing to London after claiming to have received threatening messages from an unknown source. He subsequently announced his retirement and sought asylum in England.
According to the PCB, Haider, on his return from England – after withdrawing his application for asylum –has to appear before the PCB committees: Disciplinary, Interrogative and Integrity, before he can be cleared for selection at any level in Pakistan.
Haider withdrew his asylum application after Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik assured him and his family complete security.
