LAHORE, June 16, 2015: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Shaharyar Khan and Rector Forman Christian College, Dr James A. Tebbe, signed a MOU, at a simple ceremony held at the College premises Monday.
This MOU is a part of PCB’s initiative on promoting cricket at educational institutions and providing scholarship to talented cricketers, to enhance their academic qualifications.
The MOU looks into Pakistan Cricket Board providing technical expertise in developing college's cricket facilities, to include the main cricket ground and practice/match pitches, run programmes for the ground staff on maintenance of cricket pitches and arrange coaching for male and female cricket players. The F.C College in turn will look into to facilitating educational programmes for PCB-recommended cricketers; allow usage of its cricket ground for female cricket tournaments and coaching camps arranged for the Pakistan women's cricket team.
Rector F.C College said, it is indeed a matter of great honour to be associated with PCB in providing selected educational programmes to cricketers at this premier educational institution and promoting cricket among college’s male and female students. The PCB chairman, thanked Dr James A. Tebbe for promoting cricket at the college, and stressed the importance of education for cricketers, so important for the development of their personality.
Earlier on arrival at the College, the chairman was warmly received by College Rector, Vice-Rector Dr Sufian Aslam, head of the College Sport Council, Dr Farid Malik, and head of college security and safety Col Khaqan Mahmood. It is worth mentioning here that recently PCB also signed an MOU with LUMS, promoting similar objectives.
