LAHORE– January 22, 2015: The PCB Board of Governors in its 33rd meeting here Wednesday formed three task-specific limited period Committees (PSL Bid, Model Constitution for Districts and Clubs and Media Committee to formulate Media Policy).
The status of these committees is distinct and separate from three permanent Board committees – Executive, Cricket and Grassroots.
The PCB management keeps setting up such committees every now and then to perform a task and these report to the Chairman and are dissolved when the function stands performed.
Similarly these three committees too shall automatically dissolve in the next four to six weeks after completing their assignment.
PCB’s permanent committees are only three: Executive Committee (Chairman: Mr. Najam Sethi; Members: Mr. Subhan Ahmed and Mr. Badar M. Khan), Cricket Committee (Chairman: Mr. Shakil Sheikh; Members: Mr. Iqbal Qasim, Mr. Intikhab Alam, Mr. Zakir Khan and Mr. Haroon Rashid) and Grassroots Committee (Chairman: Prof. Ijaz Faruqi; Members: Mr. Gul Zada, Mr. Javed Zaman, Mr. Haroon Rashid, Mrs. Shaheen Khan).
And the Disciplinary Committee, Illegal Bowling Action Committee, Grounds Committee and Umpires Evaluation Committee and Match Observers work under the aegis of Cricket Committee.
For the record, Mr. Najam Sethi has already excused himself from heading the PSL Bid Committee owing to personal reasons, with regard to which a separate press release has already been issued.
His replacement shall be named in due course by Chairman PCB, Shaharyar M. Khan.
