London, England - 9 August, 2016: For the first time in history international cricketers witnessed their names go onto the famous Test Match Honours Board in the dressing room at Lord’s Cricket Ground - the Home of Cricket..
Misbah-ul-Haq saw his 114 recorded on the list of batsmen who had scored centuries at Lord’s.
Yasir Shah saw his bowling figures of 6-72 and 4-69 recorded on the both the board recording test cricketers who have taken five wickets at Lord’s and who have taken ten wickets in the match at Lord’s.
Both players expressed their delight to witness their names enter history. Thousands watched live on Lord’s cricket ground Facebook page as the Pakistan players’ names were inscribed on the honours board.
Over one hundred Test Matches have been played at Lord’s. The first test match at Lord’s was played between England and Australia in 1884. Until now no players have witnessed their names going up on the Honours Board.
Pakistan were honoured for their players to be the first to be able to witness their names enter cricket history.
Hopefully this historic moment and memories of outstanding performance will inspire similar performances at the Oval this week in the climax to the four test series against England.
