Junaid Khan knee injury rules him out of the Australia Series
Sohail Tanvir replaces him
LAHORE–October 8, 2014: Pakistan left-arm pace bowler Junaid Khan has been ruled out of the series against Australia with a knee injury. Shaharyar M. Khan, Chairman, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has endorsed Sohail Tanvir as his replacement.
Junaid had injured his knee during practice at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on October 6 ahead of the first ODI against Australia. Owing to inflammation the next morning, the team management sent Junaid for an MRI scan to determine the nature and extent of his injury. The results confirmed that he would be out for a period of four to six weeks, ruling him out of the Australia series.
The team management suggested Sohail Tanvir as replacement, and as he was already in the UAE, he has joined Team Pakistan following the Chairman PCB approved.
