LAHORE-October 6, 2015: Chairman PCB Shaharyar Mohammad Khan has felicitated Women?s Team Pakistan on blanking out Bangladesh in both T20I and ODI rubbers.
In a message to captain Sana Mir, and the team management, the PCB Chairman expressed his personal as well as the entire PCB management's appreciation over the command performance given by the Pakistan Women's team.
Pakistan beat Bangladesh in two T20Is by 29 and 34 runs, while the hosts prevailed over the visitors in both ODIs as well, winning the first by 20 runs and the second 6 wickets. This is credible performance against a strong opposition from a rapidly improving Bangladesh team.
It is all the more satisfying to note that the Pakistan Women's has performed consistently well over the last four to five years, winning gold in the last two Asian Games and also many bilateral series.
In less than a week's time, the team is set to depart for the West Indies, where it would take part in a four-match ODI series and three T20Is. Three of the four ODI games in the Caribbean are part of ICC ODI Women's Championship, which is also a qualification process for the Women's World Cup to be held in 2017 in England. I hope the team would maintain its high standards and qualify for the ICC Women's World Cup, said Shaharyar Khan.
