LAHORE–November 13, 2014: Chairman PCB Shaharyar M. Khan has felicitated skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, Team Pakistan, manager Moin Khan, head coach Waqar Younis and the entire support staff on completing a splendid victory against New Zealand in the first Test at Abu Dhabi, thus taking 1-0 lead in the three-Test series.
Chairman PCB also congratulated Misbah on achieving several personal landmarks during the course of this three-Test victory sequence as well, the most remarkable amongst them becoming Pakistan captain with most triumphs. With 15 Test victories to his credit now, Misbah has moved ahead of Imran Khan and Javed Miandad, both of whom had captained Pakistan to 14 wins apiece.
Following is the transcript of Chairman PCB’s message to Misbah-ul-Haq:
“I congratulate you on this splendid Test match victory, retaining the winning sequence in Tests in this home season. As I could see for myself during my day-long visit during the course of the just concluded Test match last Monday, Team Pakistan under your leadership is not just playing brilliant cricket, its discipline, spirit and keenness to perform are its standout features.
“I noticed that everybody in the team was motivated and involved, which reflected in everyone being enthusiastic towards training and team meetings as well as backing each other in a spirit of camaraderie.
“I am positive that more successes are in store for this fine bunch of players under your steady leadership, with the assistance of the most competent support staff headed by Waqar Younis”.
