Lahore June 26, 2016: It is clarified that Chairman PCB Sheharyar Khan is not on holiday in England but is on an official visit, attending ICC annual conference at Edinburgh. He will then attend Pakistan Womens Team and A team matches and the first two test matches in the UK. He will be meeting MCC and ECB officials during his stay. He has already met and interviewed Jonathan Collett who has been appointed Public Relations Consultant for the UK tour as advised by the BoG in its last meeting two weeks ago. Mr Collett heads a PR consultancy company with impeccable credentials.
Meanwhile, Chairman ExCo and PSL Najam Sethi has just concluded a short visit to UAE to finalise negotiations with the three venues in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah with regards to both the West Indies tour in September 2016 and PSL in February 2017.
Reports that the PCB is sending a contingent of four media managers to cover the England series are misleading. The correct position is that Media Manager Agha Akbar will cover the first two tests of the tour and he will be replaced by Raza Kitchlew who will cover the last two tests. Director Media Amjad Bhatti will cover the ODIs and T20I matches at the end of the tour. Therefore at any given time only one person from the media department will be present on tour.
Aun Zaidi, head of the website department, is the official videographer on tour to create content for branding the PCB website. This is a cheaper and more efficient method to brand the website than subscribing to expensive content services from Google or Getty Images. The marketing department will be finding sponsors for the web content thus generated.
The PCB continues to adopt international best practices to promote the cause of cricket and both Chairman PCB Sheharyar Khan and Chairman ExCo Najam Sethi are working together harmoniously to achieve best possible results.
