BABAR BREAKS WORLD RECORD, PAKISTAN COMPLETE CLEAN SWEEP

Pakistan eased past New Zealand by 47 runs to complete and emphatic whitewash in the 'Oye Hoye Presents Jubilee Insurance Cup.'

Pakistan had sealed the series after winning the first two games and wee eyeing a clean sweep ahead of the third and final T20I at Dubai International Stadium. Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and elected to bat.

Babar Azam, led the attack, with a fine knock to set the tone. In the process he set the world record for being the fastest to One Thousand T20I runs, beating Virat Kohli by an innings. Kohli had achieved the feat in 27 innings.

Babar went onto score a wonderful 79.

Mohammad Hafeez picked up the baton and continued his terrific form. His unbeaten 53 helped Pakistan post the highest total of the series as the men in green finished at 166/3.

In Reply, New Zealand suffered early setbacks. They were reduced to 13/2 after Colin Munro& Colin de Grandhomme made their way back to the hut. Kane Williamson, though, stood tall on the burning deck. He partnered with Glenn Philiips to bring the Black caps back into the contest.

As soon as things started looking bright for them, Williamson miscued one off Shadab Khan; He was caught at long-on by Babar.

A flurry of wickets followed and the Kiwis never found their way back in the game.

Pakistan's spinners spun them into submission as Shadab & Imad shared five wickets between them. The debutant, Waqas Maqsood, clinched the final scalp to prompt celebrations!

Babar was named the Player of the Match for his 79.

Hafeez, meanwhile, was adjudged the Player of the series for being the most prolific batsman with 132 runs.

Both teams will now play a 3-match ODI series with the first two games in Abu Dhabi and the third one at Dubai International Stadium.
