LAHORE–October 27; A two-member Australia delegation, comprising Ms Jacqui Ashworth, Assistant Director, Pakistan and Central Asia Section, and Nicole Guihot, First Secretary (Economic-Public Diplomacy) Australian High Commission, visited National Cricket Academy here today.
Director Domestic Cricket, Mr Intikhab Alam briefed the visitors on the ongoing cricket development programmes, the visitors showed special interest in the promotion of women's cricket in Pakistan and discussed as to how best Australia can support PCB in this regard.
The visitors also talked on the issue of foreign teams not visiting Pakistan, Ms Jacqui Ashworth, said, the Australian Government fully supports international cricket coming back to Pakistan and shares the concern as to how much it has hurt the cause of Pakistan cricket.
The visitors later visited different sections of the National Cricket Academy, including the museum and were highly impressed to see the standard of training imparted to young cricketers. The visitors also met Ms. Sana Mir, captain of Pakistan women's cricket team and congratulated her on winning the gold at the Incheon Asian Games 2014.
Earlier on arrival at the National Cricket Academy, the visitors were received by Director Administration Brig (R) Sajid Hameed and GM Archives and Game education, Yahya ghaznavi.
