Lahore October 18, 2011: Management of Pakistan Cricket Board condoles the death of seasoned cricket administrator Mr. Basharat Shafi — Former President of Multan Division Cricket Association and also the former member of BCCP Council.
Mr. Basharat was a role model for all cricket administrators and distinguished himself with his tireless efforts for the betterment of Pakistani Cricket. His efforts and commitment to flourish Cricket in Pakistan will never be forgotten. He is also the recipient of ICC Centenary Medal for his services for cricket in Pakistan. The Pakistani Cricketing Fraternity sympathizes with Mr. Basharat Shafi's family at this difficult time.
Mr. Zakir Khan, Director Cricket Operations (Domestic) said, “He was an Excellent Administrator and was a humble person. We pray for the departed soul and share the grief of his family”.
The entire PCB management are deeply saddened by the loss of Mr. Basharat and their prayers are with his family at this time of grief. May Allah give her family and loved ones the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
