WORLD XI and PAKISTAN CRICKET TEAMS’ SCHEDULE OF MATCHES, PRACTICE AND MEDIA CONFERENCES IN LAHORE
The World XI will arrive in Lahore in the wee hours of Monday, 11 September, to play three Twenty20 Internationals for the Independence Cup against Pakistan.
The following is Pakistan & the World XI cricket teams’ schedule of training session, matches and media conferences in Lahore:
World XI’s arrival in Lahore – There will be no media opportunity at the Allama Iqbal International Airport as well as at the Pearl Continental Hotel. However, the PCB will distribute photos and videos of the team’s arrival. As such, please contact your usual contacts at the PCB.
Monday, 11 September – PCB Chairman Mr Najam Sethi and ICC Director Mr Giles Clarke will hold a news conference at11h00 in the Crystal Hall, Pearl Continental Hotel. This presser will be followed by the World XI captain Faf du Plessis’ and coach Andy Flower’s media conference.
The media is strongly advised to bring with it series accreditation pass and arrive well in advance to avoid any inconvenience due to tight security in and around the team hotel. DSNGs are not allowed inside the Pearl Continental Hotel or at the Gaddafi Stadium.
From 17h00 until around 20h00, the two sides will hold training sessions at the Gaddafi Stadium. Shortly after arriving at the Gaddafi Stadium, Faf du Plessis and Sarfraz Ahmad will take part in the captains’ photo-shoot with the trophy This will strictly be a photo opportunity.
Following the photo-session, Sarfraz Ahmad will hold his pre-match media conference, while World XI’s Imran Tahir will hold his pre-match media conference. Both the media conferences will take place in the media conference room.
Tuesday, 12 September – The World XI and Pakistan will go head to head in the first T20I, with the match scheduled to start at19h00. Afterwards, both the sides will hold their post-match media conferences in the media conference room.
Wednesday, 13 September - The World XI will take on Pakistan in the second T20I, with the match scheduled to start at 19h00. Afterwards, both the sides will hold their post-match media conferences in the media conference room.
Thursday, 14 September – The two sides have opted not to train and have media activities.
Friday, 15 September - The third and final T20I of the series between the World XI and Pakistan will start at 19h00. Afterwards, the World XI’s Faf du Plessis and Andy Flower, and a player or coaching staff from the Pakistan cricket team will hold their post-match media conferences in the media conference room.
Following these pressers, the PCB and the ICC will hold a joint-press conference. However, this press conference will be embargoed until 09h00 on Saturday, 16 September.
Saturday, 16 September – The World XI will depart for Dubai. There will be no media opportunity at the Allama Iqbal International Airport.
