Lahore, 27 March, 2024: Five matches were played across four venues in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad on the day seven of the Inter-College Ramadan T20 Cup.
Lahore
Government MAO Graduate College defeated Government Islamia College by eight wicktes at LCCA Ground in Lahore. MAO College bowlers Anees Ur Rehman bagged a four-wicket haul, while Mohammad Yousaf and Hassan Zulfiqar supported with three and two wickets respectively to bundle over Islamia College for 111 in 19.5 overs. MAO College batters were able to chase the target 17.5 overs, settling for a final score of 113-2. Mao College’s Faheem Abbas high-scored with an unbeaten 36 off 41 with the help of four boundaries.
Karachi
Happy Palace College saw victory against Government Delhi College at the Eid Gah Ground in Karachi. Happy Palace’s Arham Asif high-scored with 57 off 41, with a six and four boundaries,before losing his wicket to Delhi College’s Azhan Fareed, who got a four-fer in the innings. Happy Palace College’s bowlers, with the exception of Mohammad Afnan, all returned with a wicket each w Umer Ejaz bagging a four-wicket haul to restrict Government Delhi College at 121 in 17.2 overs.
The City School beat Government Pak Shipowner College by 47 runs on the back of a century by Hamza Qureshi (103,66b, 15x4s, 2x6s) at Karachi’s IBA Cricket Ground. Umer Usman’s brisk 61 off 36 (8x4s, 2x6s) further allowed The City School to post a mammoth total of 200-4. The City School in turn managed to restrict Pak-Shipowner College at 153-7, with Saif Sarfaraz returning with two wickets. Abdul Rafay ul Haq hit a fighting knock of 47 from 26, with four fours and three sixes, which went in vain.
Islamabad
Bahria College Zafar Camp beat Froebel’s by three wickets at Miusum Cricket Ground. The rain-impacted match was reduced to 15 over a side. Froebel’s put up 108-3 in the first innings. Bahria College’s Arsalan Ali played a lone warrior innings, scoring an unbeaten 65 off 43 with the help off eight boundaries to help seal the game while Froebel’s bowlers Haider Ali Raza and Khizar Malik returned with three and two wickets respectively.
IMCB G-10/4 beat IMCB Degree College Sihala by five runs, after the match was reduced to 12 overs a side, owing to rain. . IMCB G-10/4’s Abdullah made 37 off 25 with the help of four boundaries and was followed by Hussain Gohar who scored 17 off 16 (4x4s), to help post 95-9 in the first innings. In return, IMCB Degree College’s bowler Safwanullah bagged a three-wicket haul to restrict IMCB Sihala at 90-7 in 12 overs, as batter Mohammad Zohaib top-scored with 25 off 19 balls (4x4s).
