Lahore, 14 September 2023: Laiba Nasir takes her side to two consecutive victories whereas Challengers register their first win of the tournament.
Conquerors vs Stars
Laiba Nasir won the toss and invited Zaib-un-Nisa’s Conquerors to bat first. They had a tumultuous start to their batting; their top three failed to leave a mark, which effectively set the tone for the innings.
Aside from Dina Razvi and Quratulain Ahsen, who got run-out after scoring 22 and 17 runs respectively, none stayed on the crease long enough. The captain hit an unbeaten 15, which took her side to 78 for the loss of six wickets by the end of the first innings.
The Laiba-led side chased the meagre total with considerable ease. Komal Khan and Samiya Afsar put up an unbeaten opening stand, taking their side to a comprehensive victory with 7.2 overs to spare.
Challengers vs Strikers
Challengers won the toss and elected to bat first. A solid 21 at the top from Rahima Syed followed by a quick 35 from Fizza Fiaz helped the side get to 108 in 20 overs.
Kainat Riasat-led Strikers failed to chase the required ask. Although a steady 42 by the opener Aqsa Yousaf put them in the right direction, fall of successive wickets took the game away from them.
By the end of the 20 overs, Strikers could only get to 87, thus losing by 21 runs.
