Karachi, 20 August 2022: Sindh U19 Whites’ Haseeb-ur-Rehman purple patch with the ball continues as the right-arm spinner bagged seven wickets against Northern U19 Whites on day one of the fifth and final round fixture of the National U19 Championship on Saturday.
Sindh U19 Whites who is currently at the top of the Pool B with 13 points from four matches, opted to field first against Northern U19 Whites at the KCCA Ground. Northern U19 Whites were 96 for nine in 44.5 overs when stumps were drawn. Haseeb-ur-Rehman was the most successful bowler with figures of 18.5-3-43-7. He also occupies the top spot in the bowling chart with 27 wickets from just three outings which includes the ongoing match.
Pool A fixtures:
At the Rashid Latif Cricket Academy Ground, opting to bat first, Sindh U19 Blues – the table topper was bowled out for 343 in the 78th over. Captain Aftab coming to bat at number 10 top-scored with 76 from 60 balls, which included eight fours and five sixes. Ziaullah scored a 52-ball 61, hitting eight fours and two sixes. The pair knitted 51 runs for the ninth wicket.
For Northern U19 Blues, Abidullah grabbed four wickets for 92 in 19 overs. Abdullah Amin took three wickets for 60 from 22 overs.
In return, Northern U19 Blues were eight for no loss in two overs when stumps were drawn.
At the NBP Sports Complex, after being put into bat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U19 Blues were dismissed for 330 in 71st over against Southern Punjab U19 Blues. The left-handed batter Afaq Khan top-scored with 84 off 73 balls, which included seven fours and three sixes. Opening batter Mohammad Farooq scored a 111-ball 76, smashing five fours and three sixes. Farooq added 121-run partnership for the second wicket with Afaq. Jamshed Ali batting at number four scored third half-century of the innings with 62 off 71, laced with five fours and three sixes.
For Southern Punjab U19 Blues, Bilal Ahmed was the most successful bowler with three for 95. Kashif Fareed, Mohammad Shan and Zubair Jabbar bagged two wickets apiece.
In reply, Southern Punjab U19 Blues were 39 for four in 12 overs when first day’s play proceeding ended.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U19 Blues’ Wazdan Khan took three wickets for 29.
At the UBL Sports Complex, three wickets apiece from Central Punjab U19 Blues’ Ali Asfand and Mohammad Tayab Arif bowled out Balochistan U19 Blues for 138 in the 69th over. Yasir Khan top-scored with 45.
At stumps, Central Punjab U19 Blues were 81 for two in 24 overs. Opening batter Azan Awais returned undefeated on 50 0ff 69 balls, which included five boundaries.
Pool B fixtures:
At the Hanif Mohammad HPC Ground, after being asked to bat, Southern Punjab U19 Whites were bowled out for 256 in the 74th over. Mohammad Uzair Mumtaz coming to bat at number three struck 106 off 168 balls. The right-handed batter innings included 11 fours. Arafat Ahmed Minhas scored 64 off 89 balls, hitting six fours and two sixes.
For Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U19 Whites, Jawad Ali and Mohammad Irfan bagged four wickets each.
At stumps, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U19 Whites were 45 for one in 13.1 overs.
At the TMC Ground, the first day’s play between Balochistan U19 Whites and Central Punjab U19 Whites was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain.
