Worcestershire: Opening batsman Mohammad Shahbaz produced a sterling all-round show to Pakistan Disabled cricket team reached the title decider of the 2018 physical disability T20 tri series with thrilling 5-run victory over Bangladesh at the Old
Elizabethans Ground here on Tuesday.
Shahbaz slammed a dazzling 51 from just 28 balls with five fours and three sixes. Later he snapped-up three wickets for only 10 runs in four 1.3 overs to be deserving adjudged man-of-the-match.
Pakistan, having won the toss, posted a fighting total 139-8. Matloob Qureshi contributed 28 runs with three boundaries, Saifullah 14 and Wajid Alam 13.
Slow left arm bowler Durpam Patronobis took 2-18, Mohammad Alam Khan 1-18 and Mohammad Munir 1-32.
In reply, Bangladesh showed good fighting spirit particularly their skipper Mohammad Alam Khan led the team from the front with a fighting 33-ball 39 studded with two fours and one sixes . All-rounder Drupam Patronobis contributed 36 off 26 balls with three boundaries and a six.
However, the Bangal Tigers’ valiant effort was not enough as they were dismissed for 134 in 18.5 overs with all-rounder Mohammad Shahbaz and Skipper Nihar Alam, caused the main damage with three wickets each Shahbaz grabbed 3- 10 in 1.3 overs and Nihar Alam captured 3- 9 in 3 overs while Mohammad Haris took 2- 13 in 4 overs .respectively.
In other match England defeated Pakistan by 6 wickets. England won the toss decided to field first were Pakistan posted a decent total 160-7 in 20 overs. Matloob Qureshi scored 35 in 22 balls with 3 fours and six, wicket keeper batsman Saifullah contributed 30 for in 30 balls with 3 boundaries and 2 sixes, Jahanzeb Tiwana mad 29 in 17 balls with 2 four and brace for sixes, Rehan Ghani scored 16 runs. Danhann took 2-33.
In reply, England were reached there target 161 in 17.3 with the loss of 4 wickets, Callun Flynn hammered 60 runs not out of 42 balls with 10 boundaries, Alex Hammond also batted well scored 43 runs in 28 balls with 6 fours and 1 six, Laim o brain mad 20 in 16 balls with 1 four.
Skipper Nihar Alam took 2-17, Malik Kashif Nawaz 1-20 and Waqif Shah took 1-35.
Callun Flynn was declared as man of the match for his unbeaten half century.
Pakistan disabled cricket team qualify for the final with 6 points, Pakistan played four matches, won three and lost one. While England reach in the final with four points as hosts won two matches. Bangladesh disabled cricket team was out of the tournament with three defeats and one win in the Tri-Series.
Pakistan and England will meet in the final at Kidderminster Cricket Club Ground.
