Multan, 4 February 2022: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U16 Whites finished on top of the table in Pool A as they defeated Balochistan U16 Whites by 57 runs in the fifth and final round match of the National U16 Cup (45 overs) at the Zawari Cricket Academy on Friday. The win also kept them unbeaten in the tournament.
Batting first, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U16 Whites scored 237 for six in 45 overs. Riazullah Khan top-scored with an unbeaten 100 off 109 balls. His innings included seven fours and one six. Opening batter Roman Alam Khan scored 58 off 79, laced with seven fours.
Balochistan’s Syed Waqas Ahmed bagged two wickets for 40.
In reply, Balochistan U16 Whites were dismissed for 180 in the 44th over. Usman Ghani top-scored with 49, while Muzammil Ali contributed 36 runs. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mohammad Shoaib was pick of the bowlers with match figures of three for 19. Adil Waheed and Mohammad Haroon grabbed two wickets each.
At the Head Mohammad Wala Stadium, Southern Punjab U16 Whites beat Northern U16 Whites by four wickets. Batting first, Northern were bowled out for 223 in the 45th over. Abdullah top-scored with 52. For Southern Punjab, Abdul Rasool, Ali Hasnain Badshah and Bilal Khan picked two wickets each.
In reply, Abdullah Tauqeer’s 78 and unbeaten 34 from Haseeb Ahmed guided Southern Punjab to victory in the 45th over. Northern’s Mohammad Asmat picked three wickets for 36, while Azan Kabir bagged two wickets for 46.
At the Multan Cricket Stadium, an all-round performance from Mohammad Tayyab Arif guided Central Punjab U16 Whites to an eight-wicket win over Sindh U16 Whites. Batting first, Sindh U16 Whites were bowled out for 126 in the 27th over. Shahzaib Ali top-scored with an unbeaten 46. Mohammad Ammar was pick of the bowlers with four for 20. Tayyab and Ali Raza bagged two wickets each.
Central Punjab U16 Whites achieved the target in the 29th over. Tayyab scored 78 off 91 balls, hitting 14 fours.
