Lahore, 10 November 2023: Rain played spoilsport as no action could take place on the first day of the National U19 Championship final, being played between Karachi Whites U19 and Peshawar U19 from 10 to 13 November at the Rana Naveed Cricket Academy, Sheikhupura.
The two sides qualified for the final of the championship after topping the triangular stage of the tournament. While all three games in the triangular stage resulted in draws, Peshawar U19, led by wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Zulkifal, secured the top position after gaining first-innings lead in both their games.
Karachi Whites U19 had a first-innings lead against Bahawalpur U19, which edged the Mirza Saad Baig-led team into the second spot on the points table, while the latter missed out a berth in the final.
As weather conditions failed to improve, play for the day was called off at 1610 PKT with the toss yet to be conducted.
