Derby, 25 July 2020: Azhar Ali-led PCB Greens could bowl only seven overs on the second day of the four-day intra-squad practice match against Sarfaraz Ahmed’s PCB Whites at Incora County Ground due to persistent showers.
PCB Whites were 108 for three when umpires called stumps. Fawad Alam (21 not out) and Sarfaraz (13 not out) added 20 runs to the overnight score. The first ball of the day was bowled in the evening session as the first two sessions were washed out.
The run deficit between the two teams is five runs. This is the men’s national side’s final practice match before their three-match Test series against England, which starts on 5 August.
On the opening day of the match, fast bowler Sohail Khan’s five for 37 resulted in PCB Greens getting bowled out for 113 in 47.1 overs.
Babar Azam, the vice-captain of the Test team and captain of the white ball teams, was the highest run getter for PCB Greens with 32, which included three boundaries.
