Karachi, 26 November 2020: Central Punjab beat Northern by five wickets after both teams agreed to forfeit their first innings to make-up for the lost first-day due to wet outfield on the second day of the seventh-round match of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy three-day tournament for Second XIs at the KCCA Stadium, Karachi on Thursday.
The match between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh is evenly poised while Southern Punjab completely dominated the proceedings against Balochistan.
Northern vs Central Punjab, KCCA Stadium, Karachi:
After losing day-one due to a wet outfield, Northern and Central Punjab teams decided to forfeit their first innings.
Northern were rolled over for 125 in 51.2 overs. Shoaib Ahmed top-scored with 31 runs, Naved Malik contributed 22 runs. Asfand Mehran took five wickets for 41 runs; Kamran Afzal took three for 41 in 21 overs.
Central Punjab chased down the target for the loss of five wickets in 28.4 overs, Rizwan Hussain top-scored with 29 runs. Fahad Usman scored 28 while Imran Dogar made 21 runs. Farhan Shafiq took three wickets.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa vs Sindh, NBP Sports Complex, Karachi:
Resuming their first innings from the overnight score of 185 for five, Sindh were bowled out for 239 runs in 65.5 overs. Muhammad Taha top-scored with 63 off 79 balls. Fahad Iqbal scored 44, Saad Khan made 35 runs. Abbas Afridi took three wickets while Muhammad Sarwar and Asif Afridi took two wickets each.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ended day-two at 188 for seven in their first innings; Sahibzada Farhan scored 70 off 121 balls (11 fours). Ashfaq Ahmed contributed 33 runs. Azizullah and Mohammad Asghar took three wickets each.
Balochistan vs Southern Punjab, TMC Ground, Karachi:
Southern Punjab dominated the second day against Balochistan after day-one was lost due to a wet outfield. Balochistan were bowled out for 158 in 69.2 overs. Taimur Khan top-scored with 55 runs, Awais Zia scored 34 runs. Salahuddin and Muhammad Irfan took four wickets each.
Southern Punjab finished the day at 75 for no loss, Waqar Hussain was unbeaten on 43 while Anas Mustafa was not out on 29, the two will resume the Southern Punjab first innings tomorrow.
