PTV's Imam-ul-Haq scores century on second day of eighth round

Karachi, 20 February 2025: Pakistan Television’s (PTV) Imam-ul-Haq brought up his 15th first-class century before his team ended the day at 273-9 against Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) on day two of the eighth round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I.

Imam, who has been recalled in the national team for the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy, scored 158 off 344 balls hitting 18 fours. Earlier in the day, OGDCL resuming their innings from the overnight score of 265-9, could only add 13 more runs as they were bowled out for 278.

Ghani Glass require 50 runs with seven wickets in hand while chasing 153 against State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in the second innings at stumps at the UBL Sports Complex, Karachi.

SBP folded for 123 all out in 24.4 overs in reply to Ghani Glass’ first innings total of 204.  Mohammad Faizan managed 33 off 42 balls, hitting four fours and a six but in vain as only four batters managed to make it into double figures.

For Ghani Glass, Ubaid Shah, coming on the back of a five-wicket haul in the first innings, picked up four wickets while his pace partner, Mir Hamza bagged six wickets for just 41 runs in 9.4 overs, picking up his 30th first-class five-wicket haul.

In pursuit of 153, Sharjeel Khan provided Ghani Glass with a strong start with an unbeaten 61 comprising of 10 boundaries and a maximum. Ghani Glass ended the day at 103-3 in 28 overs.

At the State Bank Stadium, Khan Research Laboratories’ (KRL) Arshadullah returned figures of 15.4-4-43-5 as his side bowled Eshaal Associates out for 199 in 62.4 overs.

Earlier in the day, KRL resumed their first innings from 310-5, but lost their last five wickets for just 20 runs and were bowled out for 353. Rohail Nazir’s 120 from the first day remained the highest score. At stumps, KRL were 12-1 in nine overs.

Higher Education Commission’s (HEC) opening batter Abdullah Fazal fell six runs shy off his second first-class hundred as he got out on 94 comprising of nine boundaries against Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) at the KCCA Stadium.

Resuming their innings from 15-0, HEC ended the day at 257-7 in 93.3 overs. They trail by four runs at stumps.
