Sana Mir produced a stunning all-round performance as Pakistan Women thumped Sri Lanka Women by a huge 55 runs margin to level the three-match Twenty20 International series held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
The third and decider T20I will be held on Saturday at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Pakistan suffered early setback before Javeria Khan scored a fighting 21-ball 25 including four boundaries to keep the scoreboard ticking.
The arrival of skipper Sana Mir improved Pakistan’s situation as her brilliant unbeaten 48 from only 37 deliveries containing four hits to the fence meant Pakistan Women reached a challenging 124 for six in 20 overs.
Nain Abidi chipped in with a crucial 13 from 27 balls.
For Sri Lanka, Maduri Samuddika claimed three wickets while Inoka Ranaweera picked two.
Chasing a challenging target, Sri Lanka were in deep trouble losing early wickets from which they could never recover.
Only two batswomen – Chathurani Gunawardene (14) and Ama Kanchana (10) - reached double figures as Sana Mir bowled an amazing spell of four overs conceding only 14 runs. She also bagged a hat-trick during her four wickets as Sri Lanka were shot out for a meager 69 in 15.3 overs.
Bismah Maroof picked two wickets in her 1.3 overs giving away only four runs.
