Lahore, 12 November 2023: Peshawar U19 were dismissed for 220 in 60.1 on the third day of the National U19 Championship final at the Rana Naveed Cricket Academy Sheikhupura. Following which, Karachi Whites, in their second batting attempt, got to 88-5 in 31 overs after declaring at 333-9 in 75 overs the previous day.
Resuming from their overnight score of 36-2 in 13 overs, Peshawar U19 added 184 more to the total. The majority of the runs came from Najab Khan’s bat, who fell just four short of a century. He hit a valiant 96 from 113, including six boundaries and a maximum Anees Khan (28, 61b), Mohammad Junaid (27, 41b, 4x4s) and Mohammad Irfan (26, 62b, 4x4s) also contributed with some crucial runs.
Mohammad Fahad Amin was the pick of the bowlers, returning with a five-wicket haul. Abdul Moiz also grabbed three wickets.
Karachi Whites U19 responded with 88-5 in 31 overs. Skipper Saad Baig was the top scorer, with 29 off 36 including three fours. Ali Hassan (26 not out, 55b, 2x4s) remained unbeaten at stumps. Right-arm pacer Mohammad Shoaib Afridi was the most successful bowler of the innings as he claimed two wickets at the expense of just five runs. His fellow right-arm pacer Jawad Ali also got two wickets to his name.
