Lahore, 1 October 2021: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa defeated Balochistan by six wickets at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad on the final day of the opening round match of the Cricket Associations Championship (three-day event) on Friday.

Half-centuries from Zohaib Khan and Waqar Ahmed helped Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to a six-wicket win against Balochistan.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chased down 196-run target for the loss of four wickets in the 57th over.
Zohaib top-scored with an unbeaten 73 off 79 balls. He hit six fours and two sixes. Waqar contributed a 151-ball 65, laced with eight fours. Kamran Ghulam was other contributor with the bat with 32 off 79 balls which included four fours.
Earlier, Balochistan were bowled out for 118 after resuming their second innings on the overnight score of 89 for seven.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Atizaz Habib Khan picked four wickets for 24 while Ahmed Jamal and Zohaib Khan grabbed three wickets each.
Southern Punjab v Northern, Rana Naved Cricket Academy, Sheikhupura
Northern managed to play out a drawn game against Southern Punjab.
Resuming their second innings on 21 for no loss, Northern managed to score 324 for nine in 81 overs when stumps were drawn for the day.
Opening batter Mohammad Huraira top-scored with a 120-ball 105. His 204 minutes at the crease included 17 fours. He was equally supported by Kashif Iqbal, who coming to bat at number four scored 72 off 108 balls, hitting 10 fours.
The pair of Huraira and Kashif added 97 runs for the third-wicket partnership.
For Southern Punjab, Kaleemullah Khan grabbed five wickets for 44 and ended up with match figures of seven for 78 runs.
Central Punjab v Sindh, LCCA Ground, Lahore
Central Punjab played out a drawn match against defending champions Sindh.
Resuming their second innings with a first innings deficit of 103, Central Punjab scored 367 for four in 75 overs when stumps were drawn for the day.
The left-handed batter Ali Zaryab was the star performer for Central Punjab as he returned undefeated with 153 off 179 balls. The 23-year old struck 18 fours and four sixes. He contributed 121-run partnership for the second-wicket with Imran Dogar (87 off 152, 15 fours).
Mohammad Irfan Khan (58 off 55, nine fours) and Rizwan Hussain (32 off 28, two fours, two sixes) were other contributors with the bat.
