Multan, 23 October 2023: At Sheikh Khalifa Sports Complex in Rahim Yar Khan, Jawad Ali’s six-fer helped dismiss Abbottabad for 162 on day two of the last round of the Hanif Mohammad Trophy. In turn, Khalid Usman took six wickets as well to help restrict Hyderabad to 220 for nine in their second innings. After bowling Quetta out for 198, Islamabad produced quick 77 in the 13 overs they batted in the day.

Quetta began their day from 44 for none after 19 overs at Multan Cricket Stadium. They managed to put up 198 in 82.5 overs before getting bowled out. Latifullah Shah (48, 119b, 4x4s) was the highest scorer for the side. Bismillah Khan (38, 67b, 5x4s) and Shahbaz Khan (36, 67b, 4x4s) were the other contributors with the bat. Azan Tariq accounted for three wickets while Sikandar Tajwar and Mohammad Nadeem grabbed two wickets apiece.
In their second innings, Islamabad scored 77 for 3 in 13 overs. Hassan Nawaz (61 not out, 33b, 8x4s, 4x4s) contributed majority of the runs the side accumulated in the day. Jalat Khan returned with two wickets while Gohar Faiz also grabbed one wicket.

At Sheikh Khalifa Sports Complex, Abbottabad resumed from their overnight score of 118 for four in 29 overs. They were dismissed for 162 in 44.1 overs. Anees Azam Khan (53, 44b, 8x4s, 1x6) and Mohammad Arif (42, 71b, 3x4s, 2x6s) were the top run-getters for the side. Jawad Ali picked up a six-wicket-haul; three of them coming in one innings-changing over. Mustafa Nasir, who returned with three wickets, supported Jawad from the other end.
Hyderabad bettered their first innings performance by posting 220 for nine in 75 overs, courtesy of a solid knock by Rizwan Mehmood (82, 97b, 14x4s, 1x6). Mohammad Suleman also scored a half-century (56, 132b, 8x4s). Khalid Usman was the pick of the bowlers, returning with six scalps. Mansoor Ali also picked up two wickets.
