- Chairman PCB Shaharyar M. Khan has congratulated Team Pakistan, skipper Misbah-ul-Haq and the entire support staff. After the win, he came over to the dressing room for the second time in the day (he had first come for a brief chat during the tea break) over a remarkable victory.
- “There were many standout performers for Pakistan – Misbah, Asad Shafiq and Yasir Shah etc. But it indeed was team effort that helped Pakistan edge England out at Lord’s”, said the Chairman.
- To Misbah, he said: “Your poise under extreme pressure, on day one while batting and in this fourth innings in quest of victory was the standout feature of Team Pakistan’s endeavour. Captain Cool, you deserve all accolades and then some”.
- Immediately after the win, COAS Gen. Raheel Sharif called Misbah to felicitate him on superb victory.
- Business tycoon Riaz Malik has gifted Team Pakistan 50,000 pounds sterling on its win at Lord’s.
