Lahore, 20 November 2022: The tenth and final round of the Cricket Associations Championship 2022-23 commenced at three Karachi venues today.
Sindh made a fantastic start against Balochistan at the NBP Sports Complex. Led by centuries by opener Danish Aziz and captain Hasan Mohsin, Sindh reached 296 for three in their first innings. The left-handed Danish celebrated his birthday with a 119-run knock. His innings included 14 fours.
Hasan's 168 ball innings included 16 fours. Mohammad Suleman and Mohammad Taha were on the crease on eleven and 2 respectively when stumps were drawn.
Central Punjab who have already bagged the championship continued their outstanding run in the tournament by scoring 353 for four on the opening day of their match against Southern Punjab at the UBL Sports Complex.
Ali Zaryab scored an unbeaten 151 off 230 balls (17 fours, one six). Fahad Munir who opened the innings contributed 65 while Mohammad Waleed scored 54 runs.
Tahir Hussain and Faisal Akram took two wickets apiece.
Northern were bowled out for 240 in their first innings against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the KCCA Stadium. Saad Nasim top-scored with 65 while Taimur Khan contributed 56 runs. Pacer Mohammad Amir Khan was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets for 31 runs in 14.3 overs. Zeeshan Ahmed took three wickets.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had reached 21 for no loss at stumps.
