Faisalabad, 11 September 2022: Taimoor Sultan’s 72 scripted Northern’s 10-run win over Central Punjab at Bohranwali Ground in the Cricket Association T20 on Sunday. In the second match of the day, Sindh defeated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by seven wickets.
Taimoor stars with 72 in 63
Taimoor Sultan smashed four sixes and five fours in his solid innings of 63-ball 72 as Northern scored 144 for six after they were asked to bat.
Central Punjab crumbled in the run chase and managed 134 for eight. Gauhar Hafeez top-scored with 36 off 26 and Umar Akmal making 27-ball 30.
Kashif Ali was the only bowler in the match to take more than one wicket. He returned two for 26. Excluding Kashif, 10 bowlers across the two sides bowled in the match and each picked up a wicket.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa bowled out for 89
Sindh’s Mohammad Shahid and Arish Ali Khan took three wicket each and Muhammad Umar returned two for 16 as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were bowled out in 19.3 overs. Maaz Sadaqat top-scored with 23 and Rehan Afridi made 21.
Ammad Alam scored 44 in 37 balls (eight fours) as Sindh chased the target with six overs and seven wickets in hand.
