Lahore, 23 October 2022: Bilawal Iqbal’s remarkable figures of six for 15 handed Central Punjab a 92-run win over Southern Punjab at the NBP Sports Complex in round five of the Cricket Associations Championship 2022-23.
Southern Punjab needed 171 to win but were bowled out for 78 in 22 overs as Bilawal Bhatti and Saif Badar equally shared the other four wickets on day three of the four-day match.
Central Punjab made 153 for nine earlier with Mohammad Irfan Khan’s 40 off 52 being the top score. Majid Ali took four wickets for 47.
Balochistan had a second innings lead of 261 as they were 91 for six against Sindh at the KCCA Stadium-
Balochistan’s Abdul Hanan scored a half-century with 86-ball 51 and Sindh’s Junaid Ilyas and Arish Ali picked up three wickets each for 30 and 17 runs respectively.
Sindh made 254 in 74.4 overs with Mohammad Suleman and Danish Aziz scoring half-centuries. Suleman recorded his century on Sunday while Danish made his on Saturday. Mohammad Taha was the other notable contributor with 44 in an innings in which Mohammad Junaid’s four for 89 stood out for the bowling side.
