Lahore, 2 June 2024: Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) beat Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) by seven wickets at the Bahauddin Zakariya University Ground in Multan on Sunday in the fifth round of PCB Women’s University Cricket Tournament.
BZU chased IUB’s target of 107 with seven balls to spare. Javeria top-scored with 36 off 48 balls, which included one four, while Ambar Maria struck three boundaries in an unbeaten 24-ball 22.
Earlier, after opting to bat, IUB managed to score 106 for the loss of six wickets. Samina Aftab top-scored for the side with 27 off 37 balls, hitting three fours. BZU bowlers Rimsha Saeed (2-8) and Ambar Maria (2-33) shared four wickets between them.
Both BZU and IUB will meet again at Bahauddin Zakariya University Ground tomorrow to play the final of the Multan zone.
Meanwhile, the finals of PCB Women’s University Cricket Tournament will be held on Monday across the other three zones. In Karachi, University of Karachi and Jinnah University for Women will be playing the final at the IBA Cricket Ground. In Lahore, COMSATS Ground will host the final between University of Punjab and Kinnaird College. Fatima Jinnah Women's University, Rawalpindi and SSBWU, Peshawar will feature in the final of the Rawalpindi-leg at the Viqar-un-Nisa College in Rawalpindi.
