Lahore, 29 October 2021: Central Punjab’s Abdul Samad and Sindh’s Ahsan Ali struck centuries on day-two of the seventh-round matches of the ongoing Cricket Associations Championship.
Central Punjab playing against Northern at the LCCA Ground in Lahore managed to score 351 for five in 83 overs in reply to Northern’s 324 for nine in the first innings.
Opening batter Abdul Samad top-scored with 144 off 229 balls, smashing 22 fours and two sixes. Samad contributed 153 runs for the fourth-wicket with Mohammad Irfan Khan (68 off 122, nine fours). Mohammad Waheed coming to bat at number six scored unbeaten 58 off 77 balls, striking six fours.
For Northern, Asad Raza picked two wickets for 65.
Over at the Saeed Ajmal Academy in Faisalabad, Ahsan Ali struck 137 to help Sindh scored 376 for eight in 83 overs against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Opening batter Ahsan stuck 13 fours and six sixes during his 114-ball knock. He was supported by Danish Aziz (67 off 91, seven fours, two sixes) and Rameez Aziz (43 not out, 75 balls, four fours).
For Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fawad Malook picked four wickets for 76.
At stumps, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in their second innings were 44 for one in 14 overs.
Over at the Rana Naved Cricket Academy in Sheikhupura, Balochistan were bowled out for 249 in the 79th over against Southern Punjab. Ali Waqas top-scored for Balochistan with a 138-ball 55, laced with six fours. Fahad Iqbal was other notable contributor with the bat with 45 off 91 balls, hitting six fours.
Southern Punjab’s Mohammad Irfan picked three for 38.
At stumps, Southern Punjab were 15 for no loss in two overs.
