Karachi, 3 October 2022: Centuries from Aamer Azmat and Maaz Sadaqat helped Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to post a competitive 391 for three against Southern Punjab on the opening day of the second round match at NBP Sports Complex in Karachi. At the KCCA Stadium, Central Punjab’s Ahmed Safi Abdullah’s five-wicket haul dismissed Balochistan for 185.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa v Southern Punjab
After being put into bat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa scored 391 for three in 86 overs on the back of centuries from Aamer Azmat and Maaz Sadaqat. Aamer returned undefeated on a 126-ball 133, which included 12 fours and four sixes. Maaz struck 14 boundaries during his knock of 176-ball 112. Mehran the other unbeaten batter (54 off 73, five fours) knitted an unbeaten 164-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
Southern Punjab’s Rahat Ali took two wickets for 68.
Balochistan v Central Punjab
At the KCCA Stadium, after opting to bat first, Balochistan were bundled out for 185 in the 76th over. Taimur Ali top-scored with 45 off 132 balls, hitting three fours. Central Punjab’s Ahmed Safi Abdullah bagged five wickets for 78 from 24 overs. He was equally supported by Bilal Asif and Mohammad Waheed – both grabbing two wickets each.
At stumps, Central Punjab were 33 for one in 12 overs.
Northern v Sindh
At the UBL Sports Complex, Sindh’s Tabish Khan four for 60 and two wickets apiece from Danish Aziz and Hasan Mohsin dismissed Northern for 257 in the 65th over. Opening batter Hasan Raza top-scored with a 119-ball 89, which included seven fours. Saad Nasim (45, 53b, four fours) and Ziad Khan (42, 67b, eight fours) were other contributors with the bat.
At stumps, Sindh were reeling at 35 for three in 15 overs. Munir Riaz bagged all three wickets to fall.
