Karachi, 28 January 2021: Pakistan took control of the first Test against South Africa after reducing the tourists to 187 for four in their second innings at close of play on day-three of the first ICC World Test Championship match at the National Stadium Karachi on Thursday.
South Africa are a mere 29 runs ahead with only six second innings wickets remaining.
Earlier in the day, Pakistan secured a 158-run first innings lead as they were bowled out for 378 runs in reply to South Africa’s 220-run first innings total.
Pakistan added 70 runs today after resuming at the overnight score of 308 for eight, Yasir Shah remained unbeaten on 38 he added 55 runs for the tenth-wicket with Nauman Ali who scored 24 runs. Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Mahraj took three wickets each.
After stumps, Pakistan’s Yasir Shah and South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada held online virtual media conferences.
