Rawalpindi, 29 November 2022: James Anderson of England and Pakistan’s Naseem Shah held their media conferences ahead of the first Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
Anderson, who is England’s most successful Test bowler with 667 wickets in 175 matches, will feature in a Test in Pakistan for the first time, having played against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates in six Tests in 2012 and 2015, taking 22 wickets. Overall, Anderson has claimed 74 wickets against Pakistan in 18 Tests.
In contrast, Naseem Shah has played 13 Tests since making his debut against Australia in Brisbane in November 2019 and has claimed 33 wickets. Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is a happy hunting ground for Naseem, who, in February 2020, became the youngest bowler to take a hat-trick, achieving the feat against Bangladesh in only his fourth Test.
Anderson’s press conference is available here, while Naseem’s presser is available here. Both the news conferences can be used for editorial purposes only.
On Monday, England head coach Brendon McCullum had held his arrival presser, which is available here.
