Shaharyar calls up Shashank

Calcutta: Shaharyar Khan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, has taken the first step towards opening a dialogue with Shashank Manohar, president-designate of the influential Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Octogenarian Shaharyar, a Bhopal royal, shared an excellent rapport with the late Jagmohan Dalmiya, for example, and counts Sharad Pawar as one of his close friends in India.

New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult is keen to create history when the Black Caps take on Australia in the Trans-Tasman Trophy in November.

New Zealand have not won a Trans-Tasman Trophy in over 25 years and their last series victory on Australian soil came almost 30 years ago in 1985.
