When Mitchell Starc beats his edge with an outswinging yorker in the 39th over, the bowler slithers forward. He tells the batsman: "It's the white thing, you have to hit it." Wahab, already cranky at another middle-order meltdown from his team-mates, follows Starc down the pitch. He seethes at the bowler, complains to the umpires.

Followers of England’s 50-over cricket team are already well versed in the idea of adopting a second team at World Cups. Unsurprisingly, perhaps given that over the past five tournaments at least two months of knockout cricket have taken place with England already safely out of the way.

Former Pakistan captain says that though Ireland were the pick of the Associates, he wasn't really expecting an upset
Sunday's seven-wicket victory against Ireland was Pakistan's befitting tribute to late Bob Woolmer – one of the finest coaches I have come across. I still feel the pain of that dreadful loss to Ireland and its aftereffect eight years ago in the ICC Cricket World Cup in the West Indies.
