Bank Albaraka Present Haier T20 Cup launched

LAHORE–September 16, 2014: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in collaboration with Haier Pakistan Limited, Albaraka Bank, Zong China Mobile Pakistan, Advance Telecom and Brighto Paints announced the launch of Bank Albaraka Presents Haier T20 Cup, with unveiling of the event logo and team logos at the very outset.

With 18 regional teams featuring in the 35-match event with the top national stars participating in the T20 format, with live broadcasting on PTV Sports, the Bank Albaraka Presents Haier T20 Cup promises to offer thrilling fare.

The event commences at Karachi’s National Cricket Stadium on September 17, and runs up to September 28.

Along with Mr Subhan Ahmad, Chief Operating Officer, PCB, Mr Intikhab Alam, Director Domestic Cricket PCB and Mr. Badar Rafaie, Director Marketing PCB attended the press conference along with Mr. Javed Afridi, CEO Haier, Mr. Imran Khizer Hayat, Group Head Retail Banking Group, Albaraka Bank (Pakistan), Mr. Barkat Ullah, Regional Director S&D – Zong China Mobile Pakistan, Mr. Hanan Asif, Director Advance Telecom attended the press conference.

Also in attendance were Mr. Abdul Basit, GM Sales & Marketing Samad Rubber Works PVT Ltd., Mr. Abudl Sami, CEO Samad Rubber Works PVT Ltd., Mr. Azhar Kiani, Epoxy Industries., Mr. Nadeem Afzal, Director Marketing Al-Khair Five Star Foam.

Mr. Subhan Ahmed, PCB COO, greeting the sponsors said, their support was vital in promoting domestic cricket. Giving a low-down on the revamped domestic cricket season 2014-15, he particularly acknowledged the fact that all regions were represented in the Bank Albaraka Presents Haier T20 Cup, and each of the 18 teams was individually sponsored.

“Other than the title sponsors Haier and Albaraka, so many sponsors stepping up to own regional teams and offer their corporate support augurs well for our domestic cricket”, said Mr. Subhan Ahmad.

Mr. Intikhab Alam, Director Domestic Cricket, thanked all the team sponsors for supporting the each of the regions and assured them competitive game of cricket in the tournament.

Mr. Badar Rafaie, Director Marketing PCB, said, “the PCB is extremely excited at a fresh clutch of sponsors finding domestic attractive enough to patronize it.” He especially thanked Javed Afridi of Haier Pakistan for having the vision to promote first class cricket in Pakistan. Mr Rafaie also thanked Faysal Bank, the previous sponsors, for their support over the years.

Mr. Javed Afridi , CEO Haier thanked the PCB for giving his Group the opportunity to Sponsor the Top Premium Domestic Cricket Tournament of Pakistan. Mr. Afridi mentioned Haier Group has always been supportive towards PCB whether its Pakistan Super League or International Cricket, Haier has always extended its full support.

Mr. Imran Khizer Hayat, Group Head Retail Banking Group, Albaraka Bank (Pakistan) expressed his Group is keenly watching the entrance into sports in Pakistan and sponsoring this tournament is a 1^st step towards a long lasting relationship with PCB. “AlBaraka Your Partner Bank” is a fastest growing Bank in Pakistan and sponsoring this tournament is to encourage the 18 regional T20 Cricket teams and to create a connect between them.

He unveiled the team logos of “Zong Faisalabad Wolves”,”Zong Sialkot Stallions”,”Zong Peshawar Panthars”,”Zong Quetta Bears”,“Zong Islamabad Leopards” & “Zong Hyderabad Hawks”. Zong is also Co-Sponsor of the tournament.

Mr. Jamshed Mughal, Director Mughal Steel unveiled the logos of its sponsored teams “Mughal Steel Abbottabad Falcons” & “Mughal Steel Larkana Bulls” and also assured his continuous support for cricket Pakistan.

Mr. Sajid Hussain, GM Marketing Brighto paints unveiled the logos of its sponsored teams “Brighto Paints Lahore Lions” & “Brighto Paints Bahawalpur Stags”. Brighto paints is also the associate sponsor of the tournament.

Mr. Hanan Asif, Director Advance Telecom unveiled the logos of its teams “Advance Telecom Karachi Dolphins” & “Advance Telecom DM Jamali Ibexes” and assured passionate support of Advance Telecom towards Cricket Pakistan in future as well. Advance Telecom is also associate sponsor of the tournament.

Mr. Azhar Kiani, Epoxy Industry’s unveiled logos of its sponsored teams “Magic Depoxi Glue Rawalpindi Rams” & Magic Depoxi Glue Multan Tigers”. HE said we are really excited on sponsoring the teams and wished them thrilling games.
